How to get here
We are 12 miles (17 Kilometres) from Ronda, approximately 1hr 45
mins from Malaga or Jerez and Seville airports.
If you are coming by plane and NOT planning to hire a car.
We strongly suggest you get a flight that arrives in Malaga not
later than 3.30pm. Although there are both trains and bus services to Ronda from Jerez or Seville, they are not quite so regular from these cities.
By prior arrangement only, we are able to help organise a pick-up from the airport. The cost of this is not included and you would pay directly to the driver on arrival in Alpandeire. The cost of an airport collection is between 100 - 120 euros each way.
There are regular buses and trains, from the airport into Malaga bus station
and then a comfortable and effient coach service from Malaga to Ronda. The last bus from Malaga leaves at 7.30pm, arriving in Ronda
at about 9.45pm. By prior arrangement we will collect people from
Ronda at a cost of 22 euros. This cost is already included in the week Art Holiday.
If you are hiring a car from Malaga.
Take the signs and road from Malaga airport to Cadiz and keep on
the main coast motorway for approximately half an hour. At this
point there are signs to St Pedro de Alcantar and Ronda. Take the
Ronda junction, you go round a small roundabout and almost back
on yourself. This brings you to the mountain road up to Ronda.
There are two options for arriving in Alpandeire.
(1) Continue to the outer ring road for Ronda and then take the A369 to Algerciras. Turn off at approximately 7 kilometres where it is sign-posted to Alpandeire. drive down past a row of modern looking white terraced houses and park behind the large church. Walk down the church steps and keep following the main street down for a couple of minutes, you then get to a wide, flat cobbled street and Casa del Llanete is a large house, number 10 on the right with a large wooden front door. Or if you don't mind a very winding mountain road.
(2) Approximately
12 kilometres before Ronda, there are restaurants, a leather goods
shop and a petrol station. Almost immediately after the petrol station
on the left, there is a turn-off to the villages of the Alto-Genal.
Signposted, Cartajima, Juzcar and Alpandeire. Follow this scenic
route through the villages, (very windy and narrow and not for nervous drivers). Alpandeire is the last village (approximately
half an hour from the main road). Keep following the road across
the top of the village, you come to a second bus stand and then a sharp
left hand turn in front of a row of white terraced houses. Then as above.
If you are hiring a car from Jerez or Seville.
Follow the A382 to Antequera and Ronda. Take the ring road around
Ronda follow signs to Algeciras A369. Approximately 7 kilometres from
Ronda, take a left hand junction, well signposted to Alpandeire.
